Austria’s A la Carte issued their new gourmet guide on Monday: the Schlosshotel Fiss is in it again – and achieved another top rating.
Three stars, 86 points and two wine bottles is the rating given to the five-star Schlosshotel Fiss by the just-published Austrian A la Carte gourmet guide 2018.
Last year, the Schlosshotel Fiss was one of its top newcomers. Now, the five-star hotel not only consolidated, but actually improved its position. The exacting A la Carte judges awarded the Schlosshotel Fiss’ culinary prowess a full six points more than before as well as showering the hotel’s kitchen with praise.
‘Head Chef Christoph Geschwendtner’s dishes are beautifully memorable’ and ‘A feast for the eyes and the palate’ are just two of the quotes from the gourmet guide. The wine menu and recommendations were also highly appreciated – and rewarded with two wine bottles. ‘The service staff were highly likeable, combining a welcoming manner, professionalism and a wry sense of humour – a rare thing.’
Improving on the already high standards is a remarkable achievement. At full capacity, the kitchen brigade caters for 270 guests a day at the luxury hotel in Fiss in Tyrol.
‘This is excellent news, and we are delighted! Congratulations are due to the team under our Head Chef Christoph Geschwendtner. This rating is a fabulous acknowledgement of the first-class creative work that gets done day in and day out at the Schlosshotel Fiss to satisfy and delight our guests.
