Culinary Autumn 2017

Over the past few days, the Schlosshotel Fiss has again hosted several culinary highlights, including wine tastings, cookery classes and delicious chocolate workshops for SHF kids and employees. As part of the SHF Backstage series, we look back at the best bits of Culinary Autumn 2017.

Chocolate heaven

On Thursday, 17 October, we spent a whole day with the professionals from Felchlin Switzerland, producers of exquisite couverture chocolate, who held product training sessions, cookery classes and a chocolate workshop for the kids at the Schlosshotel.

In the morning, Felchlin’s experts and the Schlosshotel kitchen team helped the children from the Kids Club to create and decorate their own beautiful – and extremely tasty – chocolate to take away and enjoy.

In the afternoon, our employees received extensive culinary training in cocoa, chocolate and the secrets of this sweet and seductive substance before creating a whole range of chocolates themselves.

In the evening, they gathered to taste their delicious products and creations.

We also welcomed winemaker Leo Hillinger to the hotel. Together with our sommeliers, our guests had the opportunity to sample products and highlights from his top winery.


Wine and cheese tasting with Bayer and MusterAlpe Plansee

Last week also saw another delightful wine and cheese tasting session, as the Bayer winery and MusterAlpe Plansee arranged a joint evening of taste sensations for our guests. As always, the combination of wine and cheese was one of the absolute highlights of SHF Culinary Autumn 2017.
