Slippers to slope in just ten minutes!
A rarity in Tyrol, the Schlosshotel Fiss boasts direct access to the piste. Our guests start their skiing day in the hotel’s sports shop where our partner, Sport Schmid, takes care of ski storage, ski hire and ski maintenance. The sports shop stocks the season’s latest skis and snowboards. Ski boots, toboggans, cross-country ski sets and touring skis are also available for hire.
400 pairs of skis, 300 pairs of ski boots, 30 snowboards, 20 toboggans and 10 cross-country ski sets are available, and during the high season, there are four members of staff to look after your every winter sports need.
What to expect at the start of your day’s skiing:
Stay in your slippers as you make your way from your hotel room to the sports shop and ski storage area. Then it’s just a matter of picking up your kit and skiing down the slope!
If you haven’t brought your own winter sports equipment, check in with the sports shop. They will make a note of your details (size, weight, skiing ability etc.) and find the perfect skis for you.
There are three basic grades of hire skis to choose from:
- Top class skis
Beginners and advanced skis; perfect for leisurely skiers.
- VIP class skis
The latest carving skis for athletic skiers, especially race carvers.
- Exclusive class skis
These are the manufacturers’ gems; exemplars of quality and luxury that include hand-made skis.
Your hire skis are serviced daily by the Sport Schmid team to ensure they’re in top condition. Your own skis can also be taken care of overnight if you wish. The sports shop’s state-of-the-art ski service robot deals with around 500 pairs of skis every night. One of the most advanced on the market, this machine services each ski in just under a minute.
Your skis and boots are kept in the ski store – ready and waiting for the next day of fun on the slopes. This is also where our special machine dries and disinfects your boots overnight.
Everything is ready for your perfect day’s skiing…
