SHF Culinary Autumn 2017

When does autumn begin? There are several possible answers to this question in Tyrol – or rather, in Fiss. Because, up here, on the sunny plateau where the bright days of summer often seem to transition straight into winter’s wonderland, the Schlosshotel’s has come up with Culinary Autumn 2017 to mark the season of mellow fruitfulness. Culinary Autumn begins on 22 August – a month before the astronomical autumn starts on 22 September 2017: Fiss just likes to be different!

Culinary pleasures and Fiss: an outstanding combination, not least thanks to Head Chef Christoph Geschwendtner and Restaurant Manager Christian Heinisch who have once again come up with spectacular ‘staging posts’ for our two-month culinary journey of delight from 22 August to 25 October. The very best of tradition with wine tastings and the finest products from Austria, Portugal, Italy, Germany and Spain feature in the programme, which includes cookery classes, cheese presentations and many more highlights such as a The Balvenie whisky day. Naturally, all these events and promotions are free to guests of the Schlosshotel Fiss. Our autumnal gift to you, so to speak.

To tempt you even more, we have devised a little aperitif for you: on 22 August, the passionate winemaker René Pöckl presents a few surprises from his portfolio. Five days later, guests enjoy the opportunity of tasting fine wines by Portuguese winemakers Prats & Symington, and the Austrian Scheiblhofer winery – which is almost as well known for their advertising videos as for their excellent wines – is our guest on 31 August.
