“I wanted to create a special place in a special location,” says Bernadette Domenig recalling the early days of the Schlosshotel history. Ever since 1991 when she took over the hunting lodge and guest house, built in 1940, she, her family and her team have always stayed true to their vision of offering a holiday experience that not only makes each individual happy, but brings happiness to the family as a whole as they relax, enjoy their time together and celebrate the nicer side of life.

1940
Construction
Construction and opening as a hunting lodge and guesthouse where all the village feasts, dances, theatre performances and other events were held.
1970
The very beginning.
The guesthouse becomes the first Schlosshotel with 50 beds.
1991
Our story begins.
The Domenig family acquires the Schlosshotel.
1992-1996
Building conversions.
Extension work creates an indoor pool and leisure area, now with 120 beds, the third floor is restructured into maisonettes, addition of Chimney Lounge and restaurant.
2000
Indoor & outdoor pool.
Extension of indoor pool, construction of linked outdoor pool, gardens, Schlosstherme Spa and staff accommodation.
2001-2007
Multiple extension.
Addition of the Schloss Gym, beauty department & Kids’ Club, construction of underground car park (west), construction of new west wing (Alpine resort), new entrance area, restaurant and buffet area, new kitchen, Alpine wellbeing garden, Schloss Spa and new suites – now extended to 220 beds, Spa extension – Alpine Private Spa Suite, Schloss Gym extended to 300m2 and hotel forecourt redesign.
2009
Team Resort.
Construction of Team Resort with 60 staff apartments, restaurant extension, upgrade to pellet heating system, refurbishment of sports shop.
2010
New rooms, Aqua Monte & Splash Waterworlds.
Construction of Aqua Monte & Splash – separate adult and children’s Waterworlds, range of slides and attractions, Jacuzzis, outdoor saltwater Jacuzzi, grotto pool, bistro restaurant, panorama sun terrace and beautiful garden – new rooms & suites in the east wing opened in October, we now have 270 beds.
2014
New Schloss Spa.
Renovation and refurbishment of Schlosstherme Spa, lobby, hotel bar, west wing rooms & suites – development of the new Schloss Spa, Family Spa, Spa reception and hotel shop.
2015
Main building refurbishment.
All rooms & suites refurbished to match east wing design and comfort standards.
2016
25 years and 5 stars.
25th anniversary and awarded 5-star status.
2019-2020
New SHF Crew Home.
We built another SHF Crew Home with spacious, luxurious studio apartments and apartments. We did investments to create a cosy home for our employees.
2021
30 years.
